experiences with the DVA-G3810BN and openwrt

first off, the DVA board config seems wrong to me, and the stock reference configuration found in board_96358vw works much better.

the DVA config sets has_phy off on eth0, and forces the connection.  in this case i cannot get eth0 to work at all, and the no lights show on the other end.  neither of these settings seems appropriate, and turning phy on and force off restores eth0 to full (apparent) functionality.

the trouble is i have no idea how to properly patch the source – every time i make clean it overwrites my repairs.

using the power on reset method to invoke the bootloader on wan seems to require that everything be flashed twice – i suspect it has some form of dual boot mode, undocumented, or a bug.
